Job summary

IKEA Gruppe in Ohio is seeking a part-time Cart Attendant to assist with loading/unloading, maintain the loading zone, and stock shopping tools. You will support various service areas including FSHO, Exchanges & Returns, and Click & Collect, ensuring a positive customer experience.

The role involves outdoor work about half the time and up to 19 hours per week. The starting pay is $17.50 per hour with benefits through the role’s eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Friendly and efficient loading/unloading of carts.
  • Maintain loading zone cleanliness and organize carts and supplies.
  • Assist customers and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Support in FSHO, Exchanges & Returns, and Click & Collect processes.
  • Outdoor work environment required part of the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload carts safely while keeping the loading zone clean.
  • Ensure shopping tools are stocked and maintained during business hours.
  • Fill tools at closing time and report unsafe conditions.
  • Address customer needs and escalate to a manager when needed.
  • Help in other areas like FSHO, Exchanges/Returns, and Click & Collect.

What you'll be doing day to day
  • Provide friendly and efficient car loading and/or unloading services while keeping the loading zone clean by clearing away straps, excess carts, and cardboard.
  • Ensure that all physical shopping tools, including carts, pencils, yellow bags, maps, and twine, are adequately stocked and maintained throughout the store during business hours.
  • Ensure physical shopping tools are filled at closing.
  • Monitor the condition of physical and digital shopping tools, report any IT issues, and remove any physical stands or tools that are unsafe.
  • Address customer needs, resolve issues independently, and, when necessary, raise matters to a manager.
  • Support in other customer service areas such as Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), Exchanges & Returns, and Click & Collect as needed.
  • When supporting in Full Serve Hand Out (FSHO), provide customers with a simple and efficient handout experience.
  • When supporting in Returns, ensure products and equipment are properly staged.
  • When supporting Click & Collect, create a positive customer experience by ensuring accurate order handoff.
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co‑workers and customers.

Physical Demands: Lifting up to 50 lbs and walking frequently.

Working Conditions: Outdoor 50% of the time.
