Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Meriden, CT is seeking a production associate for the 2nd shift (Afternoons) from 3:00 PM to 11:15 PM. You will operate cartridge equipment, perform varied production tasks, and support changeovers while maintaining GMP safety standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year manufacturing experience, with ability to lift up to 55 lb unassisted. English communication skills are essential on this shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate cartridge equipment to pleat, trim, cut seal membrane media, sub-assemble, cap, final assembly, testing, drying and packaging of cartridges.
• Perform production operations across multiple machines and assist in changeovers as needed.
• Follow all safety rules and keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Speak, understand, and write in English to communicate effectively.

US- Meriden, CT 06450. No travel required. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Environmental Conditions

• Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards.
• Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed.
• Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery).
• Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.).
• Standing for full shift.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.

Pay

Pay: $22.36/hr. The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $17.71–$26.56.

A Day in the Life

• Operating cartridge equipment to pleat, trim, cut seal membrane media, sub‑assemble, cap, final assembly, testing, drying and packaging of cartridges.
• Performing various production operations including the operation of multiple machines, where it can be done safely, and filling in on positions throughout manufacturing operations as required.
• Observing all company and OSHA safety rules and practices.
• Keeping the work area clean and orderly.
• Assisting in changeover and setup on production line and equipment.
• Assisting other department members as needed to ensure safety and maximize output.
• Assisting in the training of other employees as necessary.
• Completing quality checks and, if a discrepancy is found, working with appropriate team members to solve the problem.
• Possessing the ability to clearly speak, understand, and write in English to communicate effectively in both verbal and written contexts.

Keys to Success

• Education – Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed prior to start).
• Experience – One (1) year or more of plant, manufacturing, and/or warehouse experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities – Ability to work 2nd Shift (Friday Morning; 3 pm - 11:15 pm). Ability to work weekends, overtime, or holidays as needed. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds unassisted and up to 70 pounds with assistance. Post‑high school education basic computer knowledge. Good communication skills.
