The Line Cook will oversee The Cartoon Kitchen, preparing cold and hot foods that meet company standards and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare workstations with supplies, foods, and condiments.
  • Deliver exceptional food quality for all meals.
  • Inspect and clean all food preparation areas.
  • Follow standards set by ServSafe, local regulations, and company policies.
  • Know all food products and ingredients used.
  • Weigh, measure, and cook ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Assist with basic food prep like washing, peeling, slicing.
  • Use ovens, fryers, broilers, griddles, mixers, knives.
  • Store food and ingredients at proper temperatures.
  • Season and cook items per recipes or judgment.
  • Plate food appropriately.
  • Pre-portion items like sauces, sandwiches, salads.
  • Label and track stored food for safety and quality.
  • Rotate food stock properly.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment.
  • Follow sanitation protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • No formal education required; culinary arts background a plus.
  • 1+ year culinary experience preferred.
  • Food Handler Safety Certified or willing to obtain within 90 days.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual skills a plus.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment safely.
  • Interest in food and culinary arts.
  • Ability to follow directions, multitask, work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, remain on feet for long periods.
  • Stoop, twist, kneel, bend, reach.
  • Handle heat and humidity.
  • Lift objects over 30 pounds.
  • Use a step ladder safely.

Working Conditions:
