Job summary

Meijer Inc. is looking for entry-level Team Members to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks across our store, customer service, and product handling. Team Members provide friendly service and perform assigned tasks with a focus on going above and beyond in customer care.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, stocking, cleaning, and supporting departments during peak times. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability for weekend/evening shifts, and building foundational retail skills.

Qualifications

• Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, push/pull, and bend/twist as needed.
• Thrives in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Must be available on weekends.
• Must be available to work between 3PM-10PM.
• Cart attendants ferry shopping carts from outside to inside the store.
• Coordinate and collect trash in parking lot, lawn, and inside store.
• Safely use snow removal equipment for snow removal.
• Handle perishable and salvage returns.
• PerformBasic store and restroom cleaning.
• Work with service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking areas.
• Collaborate with Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

As an entry-level team member, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks related to additional services provided by our store, product and customer service. Meijer Courtesy Team Members enjoy interacting with people and know what ‘above and beyond’ customer service means.

What You'll be Doing:

• Must be available on weekends.
• Must be available to work between the hours of 3PM-10PM
• Cart attendants will ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
• Coordinating and collecting of the parking lot, lawn, and inside store trash.
• Safely use snow removal equipment for properly removing snow.
• Perishable and salvage returns.
• Basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Working with our service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking lot areas.
• Working with departments: Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.

This job has a step pay plan that generally starts between the rates below with raises occurring after predetermined hours worked. The actual rate offered will meet or surpass the legal wage requirement for the job's location.
