Job summary

Meijer is hiring entry-level team members to support daily store operations and customer service. The role offers weekend shifts and a friendly, family-like environment where teammates learn a variety of retail tasks and interact with customers to deliver above-and-beyond service.

As a team member, you’ll help with cart retrieval, trash management, snow removal, returns, cleaning, and coordination across departments.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with keen eye for accuracy, especially in busy store settings.
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills for customers and teammates.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and bend safely during daily tasks.
• Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Transport shopping carts from outside the store to interior.
• Manage parking lot, lawn, and interior trash collection.
• Safely operate snow removal equipment when needed.
• Process perishable and salvage returns.
• Perform basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Assist service desk, entrances, check lanes and parking areas.
• Collaborate with departments across the store.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a team member with flexible availability, including weekends. Availability to work between 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. is preferred. As an entry-level team member, you have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks related to additional services provided by our store, product and customer service. Meijer Courtesy Team Members enjoy interacting with people and know what ‘above and beyond' customer service means.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Cart attendants will ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
• Coordinating and collecting of the parking lot, lawn, and inside store trash.
• Safely use snow removal equipment for properly removing snow.
• Perishable and salvage returns.
• Basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Working with our service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking lot areas.
• Working with departments: Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.
