Job summary

FitzMark, a third-party logistics provider, is seeking a results-driven candidate for a Carrier Sales/Logistics Coordinator role in Chattanooga. You will track freight, coordinate carriers, negotiate rates, and maintain carrier relationships to ensure on-time delivery.

We value strong communication, independent work ethic, and a proactive approach to sourcing carriers, with on-site hours Monday to Friday and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience conducting business over the phone is preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Track all freight in transit to ensure on-time delivery.
• Input tracking updates into the TMS from pickup to delivery.
• Coordinate carriers with customer freight.
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and expand the carrier base.
• Negotiate and quote rates with carriers to benefit all parties.
• Stay current with seasonal market trends.
• Use software tools to negotiate and log market rates.
• Communicate with carriers and internal teams to coordinate pickups and updates.
• Create carrier leads through warm and cold calls.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Track all freight in transit to ensure on-time delivery in your territory
• Input tracking updates into the Transportation Management System from pickup to successful delivery
• Independently coordinate available carriers with customer freight
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers while expanding your carrier base through sourcing
• Negotiate and quote rates with carriers in a cost-effective manner that benefits all parties
• Keep up to date in seasonal market trends
• Utilize software tools to negotiate and log market rates
• Communicate with carriers and internal departments, with a sense of urgency, coordinate pickup times, deliveries, updates, and resolve any issues
• Create carrier leads through both warm and cold calls

Experience and Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience highly preferred
• Experience conducting business over the phone highly preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Superb verbal and written communication, strong phone presence
• Proven ability to work independently and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
• Possess the \"Hungry\" and \"Hunter\" mentality
• Ability to problem-solve and handle high-stress environment while hitting KPI’s
• Strong people skills including ability to build relationships with carriers
