Redwood Logistics is seeking a Carrier Development Representative to source and develop strong carrier relationships within our freight brokerage team in Austin, TX, focusing on profitability and service excellence.
You will expand industry knowledge, build carrier profiles, conduct 80 dials per day, negotiate freight rates, coordinate shipments, and provide proactive support to carriers while maintaining Redwood’s high standards of customer service.

As a Carrier Development Representative working within our freight brokerage you will be responsible for identifying sourcing and developing strong business relationships with service providers to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction while upholding Redwoods standard of operational excellence
Expand knowledge of transportation industry within carrier sales and Redwood operations
Build and maintain new and current strategic carrier profiles through research and networking and aligning Redwood truckload sales opportunities
Actively engage carrier partners primarily by phone targeting 80 dials per day
Build understanding of macro market conditions and how it has an impact on truckload rates and capacity
Learn to and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers to maximize profitability on a daily weekly monthly quarterly basis
Coordinate available customer freight with available motor carrier equipment while utilizing Redwoods internal postings
Consistently provide service and support to motor carriers to build the business relationship
Learn and execute to Redwoods level of exceptional customer service and resolve issues timely when needed
Track and monitor shipments to proactively address any issues or delays during transit
Verify all freight charges confirm receipt of Bill of Lading and resolve all payables discrepancies prior to final payment to motor carrier
Monitor Bill of Lading discrepancies to ensure proper return of commodity is arranged as necessary
Research contact and develop new carrier relationships to leverage a portfolio of carrier networks to introduce new capacity to customer sales opportunities
This is a full time position with a hybrid schedule following completion of our training program Team members work onsite Monday through Friday during the initial training pod period After successfully graduating from training the schedule transitions to four days in the office and one remote workday each week Standard hours are 700 AM 400 PM or 800 AM 500 PM with a one hour break Additional flexibility may be available based on team coverage needs
Compensation Range 4500 50000K Established long standing commission structure with high upside Success in this role grows with experience and Redwood has one of the best commission models for carrier sales in the industry Youll earn monthly bonuses as you build your book of business with a Year 1 average of 4K10K As you become a freight market expert and your carrier relationships deepen your bonus potential scales exponentially year over year The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience specific and unique skills level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held the geographical location in which the applicant lives andor which they will be performing the job and the budgeted funds for this role
