Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester is seeking a Carpentry Specialist who will maintain records and perform installations, repairs, and maintenance of walls, doors, flooring, ceilings, cabinets, hardware, and related masonry work. You will read blueprints, operate power tools, travel to off-site locations, and ensure safety while following preventive maintenance procedures.

This full-time on-site role requires a trade school diploma or equivalent and Journeyman level experience.

Qualifications

Trade school diploma or equivalent experience.
3 years journeyman level carpentry experience.
Experience reading blueprints and sketches.
Knowledge of power tools used in carpentry and safety procedures.
Ability to travel to off-site locations and operate electronic devices (iPad).

Responsibilities

Maintain records and pertinent data.
Perform preventive maintenance procedures as outlined in the CMMS.
Ensure materials and equipment requirements are available on site.
Install, repair, modify, and maintain walls, doors, flooring, ceilings, cabinets and hardware.
Layout and install doors and partitions, including masonry/drywall work.
Hang doors, install windows flashing and expansion joints.
Construct laminate-covered cabinetry and modular furniture systems.
Perform other duties as required.
