Job summary

Peralta Community College District seeks qualified Part-Time Faculty to provide high-quality instruction and student support in line with the District's mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence. Assignments may occur day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid across the District's colleges.

You will teach assigned courses, develop syllabi and assessments, evaluate student performance, submit grades on time, maintain records, and foster an inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree + 2 years of related professional experience
• Associate Degree + 6 years of related professional experience
• Equivalency may be considered
• Understanding of and respect for diverse backgrounds of Peralta Colleges' students, faculty, staff and community

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and student learning outcomes
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities as appropriate for part-time faculty
