Job summary

Sumner Memorial High School is seeking a collaborative, hands-on Carpentry Instructor to lead the HCTC Carpentry program. The role focuses on real-world learning, student engagement, and partnerships with local contractors to provide authentic career experiences.

The successful candidate will deliver standards-based carpentry instruction, align with NCCER and industry expectations, and help students develop employability skills and career plans for post-secondary opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a carpentry-related field or equivalent teaching credentials preferred.
• Experience teaching carpentry or skilled trades with a focus on real-world applications.
• Ability to build partnerships with local contractors and industry professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the HCTC Carpentry program and provide engaging instruction.
• Foster a safe, productive learning environment and build positive student relationships.
• Collaborate with school administration, teachers, counselors, and industry partners.
• Develop industry-aligned projects and maintain NCCER-based curriculum.
• Support students in creating career plans, resumes, and employability skills.
