Job summary

Midwest Drywall Co., Inc. in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled Carpentry & Finishing Foreman to lead a commercial carpentry crew on active projects. You will plan, supervise, and execute framing, drywall, and finishing work to meet project specs and schedules.

The role requires blueprint literacy, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety. You will coordinate materials, manage on-site crews, document progress, and collaborate with project managers to keep work progressing smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a foreman carpenter in commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Physical strength and stamina for carpentry work.
  • Ability to travel to project locations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Project planning: coordinate with PMs and crews to plan carpentry, framing, drywall and finishes.
  • Crew supervision: lead carpenters, assign tasks, ensure timely, quality work.
  • Carpentry & framing: layout, install and modify metal studs, drywall and ceilings.
  • Drywall & finishing: hang, tape, finish and patch drywall to standard.
  • Blueprint & layout: read drawings and verify dimensions on site.
  • Materials & equipment: manage materials, tools and on-site inventory.
  • Communication: provide progress updates to team and stakeholders.
  • Safety compliance: enforce safety policies and participate in toolbox talks.
  • Documentation: maintain records of progress and changes.

Job Description:

Midwest Drywall isseeking skilled and experienced Commercial Foreman Carpenters to join our team.As a Commercial Foreman Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing andcoordinating construction, installation, and repair of structures in commercialbuildings. This role involves supervising a team of carpenters. Your ability towork and manage a team efficiently will be critical to the success of ourprojects.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Collaboratewith project managers, superintendents, and construction teams tounderstand project requirements, blueprints, specifications, schedules,and scope of work. Develop and organize daily and weekly plans forcarpentry, framing, drywall, and finishing activities.
  • Crew Supervision: Lead andmanage carpenters, assigning tasks, ensuring on time completion of tasksand quality of work. Provide guidance throughout the project.
  • Carpentry & Framing:Perform and oversee carpentry and framing activities as needed, includinglayout, installation, and modification of building materials such as metalstuds, drywall, backing, blocking, ceilings, and other related materials.
  • Drywall & Finishing:Oversee and perform drywall and finishing work, including hanging, taping,finishing, patching, and repairing drywall as required. Ensure finishedsurfaces meet company and project quality standards and are properlyprepared for subsequent trades and finishes.
  • Blueprint & Layout: Readand interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, specifications, andproject plans. Accurately lay out work and verify dimensions, elevations,and locations prior to installation.
  • Materials and Equipment:Coordinate materials, tools and equipment required for the project. Keeptrack of inventory and ensure that all necessary tools and equipment areavailable on-site.
  • Communication: Maintain clearand effective communication with the construction team to provide progressupdates and address any issues or concerns.
  • Safety Compliance: Promoteand enforce company and project safety policies and procedures. Conduct orparticipate in toolbox talks and safety meetings, identify potentialhazards, and ensure all assigned personnel follow required safetypractices and procedures.
  • Documentation: Maintainaccurate records of project progress, material usage, and any changes madeto the original plan.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as aforeman carpenter in commercial construction projects. With previousexperience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentrytechniques, construction methods, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpretblueprints and construction plans.
  • Demonstrated ability toperform and oversee drywall installation, finishing, repairs, and relatedconstruction activities.
  • Strong organizational andcommunication skills.
  • Problem-solving anddecision-making abilities.
  • Physical strength and staminato handle the demands of carpentry work.
  • Ability to work varyingschedules and travel to project locations as required.
