Columbus Technical College is seeking an adjunct instructor in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking. The part-time, exempt position requires preparing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, advising students, and attending faculty development activities.

Travel across service area counties may be required. Candidates should have a Diploma or Certificate in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking or related field; 3+ years in the carpentry field; teaching experience is preferred.

Competenze

Diploma or Certificate in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking or related field from an accredited college or technical institution.
Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking.
Training or teaching experience preferred.

Mansioni

Instruct students in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking skills.
Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
Request and maintain supplies, tools, and equipment, and prepare budget requests.
Develop teaching methods and maintain documentation.
Meet with students, staff and other educators to discuss instructional programs and other issues impacting progress.
Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
