Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Carpenter’s Assistant to support skilled carpenters in all tribal facilities. You will perform construction, remodeling, and repair tasks under supervision, reading blueprints and following established routines to ensure safety and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least three years of carpentry experience. You must supply your own tools and be able to lift heavy objects as needed, in various indoor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance eligibility.
• Three years’ experience in all phases of the carpentry field.
• Must have own carpentry tools.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and repair of structural woodwork and equipment from blueprints or drawings.
• Assist in building, repairs and installation of counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim.
• Install glass in windows, doors and partitions.
• Replace damaged ceiling tile, floor tile and wall coverings.
• Will work in all areas of the Facilities Department as needed.
• Follow established routines and receive instructions for unusual jobs.
