Job summary

MillerKnoll, Inc. is seeking an experienced woodworker to read drawings, cut, assemble and finish various furniture frames and components at our Chicago facility.

You will follow production schedules to ensure precise dimensions and high-quality results while adhering to safety and process standards. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of woodworking experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, dimensions, views and tolerances.
  • Proficient with listed shop tools (bench saw, miter saw, band saw, planer/jointer, router, sander).
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced team environment and multi-project workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products per Production Schedule.
  • Meet all critical dimensions and product characteristics.
  • Maintain work station clean, organized and safe.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain accurate timesheet and on-time submissions.
  • Observe company policies and standard practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

POSITION PROFILE:

Must have the ability to read and comprehend furniture drawings, and create detailed cut lists. Perform the cutting, joinery, assembly and finish sanding of furniture frames, decorative sofa and chair bases, small tables, consoles, and benches.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assembly of products:
    • Product completion per Production Schedule
    • Meet all critical dimensions and product characteristics.
    • Maintain work station clean, organized and safe.
    • Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required.
    • Maintain the time sheet accurate and on time.
    • Observe all company policies and standard practices.
    • Participate on all required continuous improvement activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years previous experience of woodworking.
  • Reading and understanding drawings, dimensions, views and tolerances.
  • Proficient using equipment and hand tools such:
    • Bench saw
    • Miter saw/Radial saw
    • Band saw
    • Planer/Jointer
    • Electrical tools: Router, screw driver, sander.
    • Hand tools.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced team environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and flawless results.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels within an organization and be a team member

Compensation range for this role is $19.00 - $23.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
