Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in Orlando, FL seeks a Senior Carpenter to maintain and build park structures, ensuring safe, high-quality environments for guests and staff.

The role requires 3+ years of onsite carpentry experience, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with materials across various trades. Flexibility for shifts, heights, and physical work is essential for success in this role with the SeaWorld team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of onsite carpentry experience required.
• Experience with cabinet building, framing, solid surface and laminate countertops, roof repairs, drywall installation, concrete work, and related tasks.
• Ability to read blueprints or detailed sketches; operate power and hand tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry for in-park builds, repairs, and installations to maintain safe environments for guests and staff.
• Select appropriate materials for jobs and ensure quality workmanship.
• Maintain attendance and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with Ambassadors, Vendors, and Guests; assist carpentry supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned; support carpentry team leadership.

What You Get To Do:

You will roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty and perform carpentry work in order to keep our parks looking sharp.

Specifically, You Will:

• Perform all functions of general carpentry work for in-park builds, repairs, installations, providing a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Select proper materials for jobs
• Dependable performance in terms of attendance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements
• Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist carpentry supervisor leading carpentry team.

What It Takes To Succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of onsite experience in the carpentry trade
• Experience with cabinet building and framing, fabrications of solid surface and laminate countertops, roof repairs, drywall installation, concrete work, and more.
• Ability to work with blueprints or in-depth sketches
• Ability to operate and maintain power and hand tools and other equipment in good safe condition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess basic mathematical skills
• Work at heights up to 100ft, work on scaffolding up to 24 ft, and ability to climb and work off of ladders
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, loud noises/vibrations and cold/heat temperature extremes
• Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, holidays and duty coverage.
