Job summary

Side X Side Construction in Wisconsin is seeking a skilled Carpenter for commercial projects. The role covers both rough framing and finish carpentry, reading blueprints, and maintaining high workmanship standards on site.

You will mentor Apprentices, ensure OSHA safety compliance, and collaborate with foremen and other trades. A minimum of 3 years’ carpentry experience and a valid driver's license are required; willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; carpentry coursework preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience in rough and finish carpentry.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
• Willingness to mentor Apprentices and Helpers; OSHA safety knowledge.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough carpentry: framing, blocking, backing, sheathing, and structural layout.
• Perform finish carpentry: install trim, doors, hardware, millwork, and related finishes.
• Read, interpret, and execute work based on drawings, specs, and layout information.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and job site equipment safely and effectively.
• Provide guidance and basic instruction to Apprentices and Carpenter Helpers.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas per company policies and OSHA standards.
• Identify and communicate potential field conflicts and material needs to foreman.
• Assist in maintaining job site productivity and schedule adherence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
