Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Carpenter to join our field teams in Texas. You will perform carpentry tasks and build and repair wood and wallboard fixtures in line with local codes and construction principles.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up trailers, building decks and temporary structures, handling forms, and assisting journeymen with grades and elevations. We value safety, teamwork, and clear communication; must have at least two years of carpentry experience and a high

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years carpentry experience.
• Trade or technical school certification preferred.
• Ability to study blueprints and measure dimensions.
• Strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up trailers.
• Study blueprints to determine material requirements and measure dimensions.
• Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves and set up site.
• Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms.
• Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations.
• Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials.
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry (walls, footings, decks, drywall, doors, millwork, cabinetry).
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
