As a Carpenter Lock & Security Supervisor, you will provide leadership and supervision for all work activities within the Marine Maintenance Carpenter Lock Shop, supporting various divisions including Maritime, Real Estate, and Northwest Seaport Alliance.
- Responsible for changing locks, creating keys, assisting tenants, and maintaining the key management database for Port of Seattle facilities.
- Manage and maintain locksets across Port facilities, including offices, parks, and terminals.
- Supervise your team and perform daily shop tasks.
- Operate computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, Keystone, Quantum Secure, and SharePoint for tracking keys and maintenance data.
- Input data related to door maintenance throughout the Port.
- Assist with badge activation/deactivation and access privileges.
- Oversee on-site safety practices, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and PPE use.
- Lead daily staff meetings, review safety hazards, and coordinate personnel, equipment, and material needs.
- Participate in hiring and layoffs, and document work activities with photos and videos.
- Manage yard activities, track work hours, and ensure projects stay within budget.
- Monitor Port-owned and rental equipment, report issues, and manage timecards, breaks, and overtime.
Who you are:
- Experienced: At least five (5) years of progressive journey-level carpentry experience.
- Desired: Supervisory experience and seven (7) years of journey-level carpentry experience.

Additional requirements:
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
- Work schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 – 14:30, with potential for weekends, holidays, and emergency work.
- Work environment involves outdoor work in various weather, noise, hazardous materials, heights, and confined spaces.
- Residency in Washington State required within 30 days of employment.
