Job summary

PARIC is seeking a skilled Carpenter to perform rough and finish carpentry and general construction tasks to support project teams. This role requires frequent overnight travel to project sites during projects.

You will read drawings, install doors, frames, hardware, casework, and temporary structures, operate tools safely, and maintain quality standards while coordinating with site supervisors and clients.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program; OR at least 7 years of experience via on-the-job training
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
  • Certified to operate lifts, lulls, skid steers, etc.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of trade
  • Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain handrails in commercial settings
  • Set doors, frames, and hardware; rough carpentry framing
  • Install casework, millwork, and countertops
  • Construct temporary walls and enclosures for safety and phasing
  • Read drawings and specifications; work from blueprints
  • Operate hand and power tools safely; ensure quality and safety
  • Record materials used and time spent; communicate with site supervisors

Job Description

The Carpenter will perform a variety of rough carpentry, finish carpentry and general construction tasks to support project teams. This position requires frequent overnight travel to project sites for the duration of the project.

Essential Functions
  • Perform carpentry work including but not limited to the following:
    • Install, repair, and maintain handrails in commercial settings
    • Set and align doors, door frames, and install door hardware
    • Rough carpentry including framing, blocking, and structural modifications
    • Install casework, millwork, and specialty carpentry components
    • Install Windowsills and Countertops.
    • Construct temporary walls, temporary windows, and other temp enclosures for jobsite safety and phasing
    • Install bathroom partitions, accessories, and related fixtures
  • Read, interpret, and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to company and jobsite safety policies
  • Communicate with site supervisors, project managers, and clients professionally
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, climbing. Bending, and kneeling
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
Travel

This position requires full-time travel to various job sites for the duration of the project.
