Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Carpenter Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for installation of formwork, finish carpentry and drywall on commercial projects.

Responsibilities include studying blueprints, performing concrete and rough carpentry, setting door frames, hanging doors and completing finish carpentry tasks while collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and complete an apprenticeship.
• Experience with formwork, finish carpentry and drywall is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and measure accurately, and operate carpentry tools.

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Journeyman that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for installation of formwork, finish carpentry and drywall.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
• Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, slabs, columns, drywall)
• Set door frames, hang doors, and install hardware
• Complete finish carpentry tasks (toilet accessories, handrails, corner guards, partitions, lockers, cabinets, countertops, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, running trim)
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of apprenticeship program
• Union specific training
• Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, read plans, and operate equipment (table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems)
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
• Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.).

Pay

Base pay range: $35.12 per hour.
