Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a Carpenter II to perform skilled carpentry, maintenance, and repair work on university buildings. This full-time role reports to the Director of Lands and Facilities and is based in the Savannah area.

Responsibilities include constructing and repairing wood structures, installing doors and hardware, reading sketches/blueprints, and coordinating multiple projects with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years related experience.
• Strong carpentry knowledge and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry work in construction, alteration and repair of wood items and structures.
• Install, repair, and replace doors, door hardware, and locks.
• Maintain Lock/Key database and windows/ window hardware.
• Drive a truck to various locations on and off campus and assist in maintenance projects.
