Description

Under minimal supervision, constructs, installs, repairs, and renovates structures and fixtures of university offices, suites, and laboratories.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepares for upcoming jobs, produces material lists, notes other crafts likely to be involved, and produces tentative schedules.
2. Inspects work and double checks to ensure items and supplies are on hand.
3. Identifies necessary changes and notifies appropriate parties.
4. Inspects, notes repairs, orders equipment and supplies when needed.
5. Assists in providing training, developing work schedules, technical direction, safety procedures, etc.
6. Performs all regular job duties of a carpenter as required.
7. May serve on special task forces during emergencies such as floods, storms, hurricanes, etc.
8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions like percentages and ratios, typically acquired through a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
