Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies in the United States seeks a Carpenter Helper to assist journeymen with planning, layout and installing forms, rebar and anchor bolts for concrete structures in line with plans and codes.

You will use hand and power tools, read plans, and follow safety procedures to build forms, tie rebar, place concrete, and finish surfaces. This role emphasizes teamwork, quality workmanship, and strict site safety.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working in the carpenter craft or similar craft as a helper.
• Working knowledge of the carpenter craft including fabrication and erection of forms (i.e. Symons).
• Fabrication and placement of rebar and tying techniques; finishing and sealing concrete.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to complete pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and install forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts.
• Construct and install built-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms per specifications.
• Pour, vibrate, level and finish concrete surfaces; patch defects as needed.
• Read plans and read safety protocols; report hazards and follow lockout/tag out procedures.
• Coordinate with team and participate in safety training and pre-job planning.
