Job summary

Brycon Corporation in Chandler, AR is seeking a skilled carpenter to read blueprints, install and repair wooden structures, and work with wood, plywood, and wallboard.

You will use hand and power tools, prepare materials, takeoffs, and ensure safety while meeting project deadlines. The role may require extended hours and weekend work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent desired, and 2 to 3 years experience in skilled carpentry
• Favorable driver's record/valid license
• Background check and drug/alcohol screening may be required
• Skilled in reading, writing and math
• Ability to read blueprints
• Accuracy, detail-oriented, organized, reliable, responsible, safety-conscious
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Skilled in the use of carpentry power and hand tools

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Perform carpentry tasks using hand and power tools.
• Prepare material takeoffs.
• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
• Operate hand and power tools and company equipment.
• Receive materials and offload safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces for paint and other applications.
• Work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Job Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Perform a variety of tasks involving use of hands tools, such as, but not limited to, minor demolishing activities, wood, and metal stud framing
• Prepare material takeoffs
• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools and company equipment
• Receive materials and offload in a safe and proficient
• Prepare surfaces for paint and other applications
• Other duties, as assigned.
• Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), and weekends. Employees will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Experience, Skillset, & Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent desired, and 2 to 3 years experience in skilled carpentry
• Favorable driver's record/valid license.
• Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol
• Skilled in Reading Writing and Math
• Ability to read Blueprints
