Job summary

Dallas City Hall in Dallas, TX is seeking an entry-level Carpenter for Fair Park (Park and Recreation). The role performs carpentry maintenance and construction to keep city facilities in good repair, with duties across stages, doors, fences, and more.

You will read blueprints, use hand tools and power tools, assist the crew chief, and support seasonal maintenance. Minimum one year carpentry experience, valid driver's license, and possibly CDL in some cases; overtime and weather apply.

Qualifications

• One year of carpentry and/or general construction experience
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Ability to obtain Texas Class A CDL within probationary period
• Subject to overtime and inclement weather

Responsibilities

• Assists with carpentry work in fabricating and maintaining wood structures; builds stages and risers.
• Repairs doors, frames, locks, masonry, tiles, modular office furniture, and rest room partitions.
• Installs and repairs chain link fences; maintains park structures and wood facilities.
• Assists with cabinetmaking, woodwork, and drywall for repairs or additions.
• Constructs barricades for traffic control at events; performs concrete work for sidewalks and retainer walls.
• Reads floorplans, measures jobs, and assists with bids and supplies.
• Supports other trades; participates in seasonal facility maintenance to ensure safety and functionality.
• Performs other duties as needed.
