Job summary

Santa Fe College is seeking a skilled Facilities Carpenter to maintain and improve college facilities, including flooring, roofing, drywall, and cabinetry. The role requires completing repairs, performing minor renovations, and ensuring ADA and Florida Building Code compliance.

The position involves working from elevated platforms up to 65 feet, using a college ERP system for work orders, and supporting campus projects while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Carpentry certification from a recognized vocational or trade school with two years of related commercial work experience or four years of related work experience (or equivalent training) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes internal and external repairs to maintain structural integrity, aesthetics and safety of facilities.
• Performs minor renovations, maintenance, and repairs for offices, classrooms and other areas.
• Assembles, installs and makes minor repairs to furniture and equipment.
• Responds to emergency repair calls to ensure safety and timely resolution of issues.
• Works from aerial lift and elevated platforms up to 65 feet.
• Adheres to safety standards, reads blueprints/drawings, and logs work orders.
