The Peterson Company, LLC is seeking a Commercial Carpenter to perform a range of on-site carpentry tasks on construction projects. The role requires operating hand and power tools, reading simple plans, and maintaining job-site safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include rough framing, trim and cabinet installation, ceiling grid, door and hardware installation, drywall finishing, and material handling.

• Installs ceiling grid and tile.
• Removes and installs commercial doors, frames, hardware; installs metal and wood frames in various substrates.
• Implements blocking methods with eave, wall and roof blocking.
• Installs toilet partitions and accessories.
• Installs mud and tape drywall assemblies.
• Maintains a clean job site daily, secures tools and reduces hazards.
• Performs materials handling and storage.
• Loads and unloads trucks and hoists materials.

Commercial Carpenter Job Description

The construction carpenter performs tasks involving physical labor on construction job sites. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, frame wall, install blocking, erect scaffolding, install ceiling grid, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.

Carpenter Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
• Will work independently installing trim and cabinets taking extra care while paying attention to detail and finish products.
• Performs rough frame work with structural wood and metal walls, trusses and framing.
• Will use form carpentry experience with stairs, piers, step down footers, column diamonds.
• Installs ceiling grid and tile.
• Removes and installs commercial doors, frames, hardware; install metal and wood frames in a variety of substrates, metal and wood doors and all types of door hardware.
• Will use blocking methods with eave blocking, wall blocking and roof blocking.
• Installs toilet partitions and accessories.
• Installs mud, tape drywall assemblies.
• Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Performs materials handling and storage.
• Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
