Experience in hospital or institutional carpentry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Constructs, installs, finishes and maintains structures such as partitions, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, equipment, furniture, and other parts of the hospital building.
Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives; works on ladders and at height.
Prepares layouts for renovations using blue prints, sketches, or verbal instruction.
Takes measurements, cuts, shapes and smoothes lumber and materials (e.g., fiberglass) per measurements.
Ensures carpentry work aligns with other trades and writes/executes instructions; resolves regulatory deficiencies.

Number of Positions In Requisition

Performs a variety of carpentry duties in and around the hospital’s property and grounds, including the construction, installation and repar of structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard. Responsible for ensuring all work is performed in accordance to local building codes. Performs preventive carpentry and other maintenance work as assigned in order to keep hospital running smoothly, including but not limited to: adding floors and steel wall structures, painting, and identifying and resolving regulatory compliance deficiencies.

Insures all carpentry work, as related to other trades, are completed as per written and/or verbal instruction.

Completes rounding to identify and resolve regulatory compliance definiciencies.

Assists with or performs other maintenance needs as directed.
