Job summary

College of DuPage is seeking a full-time Carpenter to perform carpentry and building maintenance. Under direct supervision, duties include demolition, construction, installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of exteriors, interiors, fixtures and related structures.

The role requires reading blueprints, coordinating with end users and subcontractors, installing doors, drywall, flooring, and fixtures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to two years carpentry or building maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License required.
• Snow removal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Coordinate daily work with end users, subcontractors, and facilities staff.
• Install, repair, and maintain doors, windows, drywall, and flooring.
• Perform carpentry tasks during in-house remodeling projects.
• Move and assemble office and classroom furniture and equipment.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with snow removal operations.
