Job summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Carpenter Apprentice in Sterling, Virginia. This role involves learning layout, material selection, blueprint reading, and working with wood, drywall, and other materials.

You will assist in building stairs, handrails, doors and windows, ensuring quality and safety across projects. You will work under supervision, use a range of carpentry tools, and travel as needed to project sites.

Qualifications

• No minimum educational requirements.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
• Ability to take measurements and make calculations.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prepare the layout of the project.
• Read blueprints, drawings or instructions from supervisors.
• Work with varied materials (wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall).
• Use carpentry tools to erect and repair structures and ensure accuracy.
