- DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Carpenter 1, you will work with a carpentry team that maintains 40 buildings at a facility that spans 152 acres. You will perform skilled tasks in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of buildings throughout the facility. You will prepare work areas, repair and install doors and windows as well as paint interior and exterior areas. This role requires the ability to select proper tools and materials for each assignment while completing work in a neat and professional manner. In addition, you will read blueprints and drawings, create preliminary work sketches, and adhere to safety precautions to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work weekends on a 12-person rotation, on-call holidays, and be subject to emergency call-ins.

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Three years of experience in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, or maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
