Job summary

The Carpenter role at CBS, the largest division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc., involves general building maintenance and carpentry repairs in a commercial/public sector setting in Washington, DC. You will perform tasks from hanging pictures to door and window repairs and interfacing with managers to ensure client satisfaction.

Shift is Sunday-Thursday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Salary ranges from $30–$35 per hour depending on experience; comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a 4-year Carpenter Apprentice or equivalent training preferred.
• Minimum of five years of related experience with building systems.
• Ability to pass government background check.

Responsibilities

• Hang pictures.
• Install and repair blinds.
• Complete various carpentry projects.
• Operate woodworking tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose and repair building system problems as assigned by work control.
• Provide direction to sub-contractors designated to perform repair of doors and associated equipment.
• Interface with building managers and other customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction.
• Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders.
• Place and/or remove systems, hardware and equipment as required.
• Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Carpenter is responsible for performing general building maintenance and carpentry repairs, including repairing acoustical ceilings and tiles, doors, drywall, and furntiture.

• Installing and repairing blinds
• Completing various carpentry projects
• Operates woodworking tools and equipment in the woodshop as well as electric handhand tools to perform repairs, modifications, and installations safely and efficiently
• Diagnose and repair building system problems as assigned by work control
• Provide direction and support to sub-contractors designated to perform repair of doors and associated equipment and/or hardware
• Interface with building managers and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
• Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders
• Place and/or remove systems, hardware and equipment as required
• Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Shift/Hours Sunday-Thursday, 230 pm to 1100 pm

Salary $30-$35 depending on experience

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass government background check
• Completion of 4-year Carpenter Apprentice or equivalent training program preferred
• Completed coursework in construction trades areas
• Minimum of five (5) years of related experience with building systems
• Valid drivers license with reliable transportation
• Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds
• Capable of climbing ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet
