Job Description:

We are seeking Carpenters (Heavy Highway - Roadway/Bridge projects) with experience in form work for bridges and structures to work on projects in:

• Wallops Island, VA
• Staunton, VA
• Northern VA/DC/MD area

Summary: Constructs, erects, and repairs structures; must have own hand tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Work while tied off to fall protection.
• Use of hand and power tools skillfully.
• Work with level and read blueprints, sketches, or bridge plans.
• Select and prepare materials, including measuring, shaping, and assembling.
• Build forms and chutes for pouring concrete, including scaffolding and ladders.
• Assist in pouring and finishing concrete structures.

Qualifications:

Successful performance requires ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Education and/or Experience: Carpenter training or equivalent, or experience in bridge work, including blueprints reading.

Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, handle tools, reach, and talk; work on uneven ground; wear steel-toed boots; lift up to 100 pounds occasionally; specific vision abilities required.

Work Environment: Exposure to high places, weather, mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, noise; moderate to loud noise levels.

Expected pay: $25 - $31/hr, depending on region, experience, and other factors.
