Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Permanent Commercial Carpenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of commercial construction, with expertise in carpentry. This role requires a hands-on professional who is not only competent in the technical aspects of the job but also possesses excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be working on various commercial projects, including office buildings, retail stores, and other commercial facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned carpenter looking to take their career to the next level in a rewarding, high-energy environment.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and building plans to meet the needs of the client.
• Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
• Inspecting buildings and structures to gauge the need for repairs or renovations.
• Working with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
• Managing the layout of projects, including marking cut lines on materials, drilling holes in components, and assembling the structures.
• Collaborating with the project management team to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensuring all projects adhere to safety regulations and standards.
• Maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
• Analyzing and resolving work problems and assisting workers in solving work problems.
• Continuously improving processes and procedures to achieve superior results.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of commercial carpentry experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent. A degree from a vocational school or a carpentry apprenticeship is a plus.
• Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Punctual, reliable, and with a strong work ethic.
• Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a part of a team.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Certification in relevant carpentry or construction fields will be considered an advantage.
