Job summary

CBRE is seeking a skilled carpenter to maintain and renovate a premier healthcare facility. You will perform painting, drywall repairs, cabinetry installation, and custom millwork to keep the environment safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and medical staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of related experience.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards.
  • Effective communication to share straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of the building’s structure and grounds.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance; document work.
  • Build, dismantle, repair structures, walls, roofs, and facia.
  • Review work orders; estimate time, materials, and tools; order supplies.
  • Review construction drawings and maintenance logs for guidance.
  • Collaborate with staff and stakeholders on work orders and plans.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, stored, and maintained safely.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and safety incidents.
  • Participate in HSE programs and report conditions that could cause harm.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee the general operation, repair, and maintenance of the building’s structure and grounds.
  • Perform assigned repairs and emergency preventative maintenance. Complete maintenance repair records as required.
  • Build, dismantle, and repair structures, walls, roofs, glass, siding, scaffolding or facia.
  • Review assigned work orders and estimate time, materials, equipment, and tools to complete the repair. Order necessary materials and supplies as needed.
  • Review construction documents such as drawings, sketches, specifications, and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with employees, end users, and stakeholders concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are thoroughly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Ensure the personal safety and safety of those who are affected by your work.
  • Participate in all HSE-related programs, activities, and training as required. This includes incident investigations, interviews, auditing, assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
  • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
