A leading healthcare provider is seeking a skilled Carpenter for their Facilities Support Services in Sacramento. The Carpenter will be responsible for various maintenance tasks and construction projects within the facility, ensuring that all work adheres to safety and health regulations. This full-time position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, making it an ideal opportunity for experienced professionals in the carpentry field.
At Journeyman level, carpenters perform tasks such as wall erection, door and frame installation and wood product fabrication including solid surface fabrication and installation. Carpenters are also responsible for drop ceiling repairs, floors, door hardware, roof leaks and emergency disaster response. The work involves reading and interpreting plans, sketches and shop drawings. Carpenters are also familiar with working in an environment that requires strict infection prevention measures. Additionally, they conduct preventative maintenance on critical and/or life safety equipment annually, monthly, and weekly, as well as other duties assigned by a supervisor to ensure the hospital functions at the highest level.

The Plant Operations & Maintenance (PO&M) Department is a 24 hour, seven day a week operation responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of buildings, systems, and grounds at the UC Davis Health System that includes 148 acres and structures that total 4 million GMSF. Plant Operations & Maintenance is one of the largest operations and maintenance support providers to clinical, administrative, research, SOM and SON departments throughout the Health System. UC Davis Health System is one of several UC campuses that have their own cogeneration, central power plants. Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, both of which are used throughout the Medical Center Campus and is supported by Plant Operations & Maintenance 24x7x365.
