Job summary

Scull Construction Service, Inc. is seeking a carpenter in Rapid City, SD to build, install, design, and repair structures using wood and other materials. You will work with a team on challenging projects, reading blueprints and operating common carpentry tools.

Pay is $19-$28 per hour with overtime eligibility. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), life insurance, and paid time off; safety and training are emphasized, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of carpentry experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random testing.
• Must have personal transportation to and from job sites, including out-of-town work.
• Must arrive on time to job site fit for duty for required shift and have PPE and necessary tools with you.
• Attend all safety meetings and maintain safe job site practices following company policy.
• Wear and maintain PPE as directed by supervisor and safety team, including hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests.
• Willingness to learn and master new tasks, duties, and responsibilities.
• Pay attention to job details to provide an acceptable uniform product.
• Identify and communicate any job site hazards.
• Safely operate all equipment and tools; training required for unfamiliar equipment.
• Keep all tools in good, clean, and operating order.
• Demonstrate safety and housekeeping on all job sites.
• Display a positive attitude towards the company, fellow employees, and customers.
• Be responsible for working unsupervised and complete work as directed.
• Instruct and direct laborers in a positive manner.
• Willingness to travel out-of-town.
• Work overtime, including some weekends.
• Maintain acceptable personal hygiene.
• Dress appropriately for working conditions.

• Take direction and complete duties as directed by supervisor.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

• Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 75 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift
• Ability to safely climb up and down ladders
• Ability to work alone once instructions have been given
• Able to complete a full day's assignments involving one or more of the following: Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers

• Able to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms over 10 feet
