Job summary

Clancy & Theys Construction Company in Raleigh, NC, seeks a skilled Carpenter to translate blueprints into tangible spaces, from formwork and framing to finish work, with a strong commitment to safety and quality. You will work on commercial projects, read construction documents, operate hand and power tools, climb ladders, and collaborate with crews to deliver durable, well-crafted results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience as a carpenter in commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and specifications to plan and execute commercial carpentry work.
• Construct, install, and repair structural components and finish materials (wood, wallboard, formwork, etc.).
• Operate hand and power tools safely and accurately.
• Climb ladders and work from lifts or scaffolding at various heights.
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs using proper technique.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols, always wearing appropriate PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Interpret blueprints and specifications to plan and execute commercial carpentry work.
• Construct, install, and repair structural components and finish materials (wood, wallboard, formwork, etc.).
• Operate hand and power tools safely and accurately.
• Climb ladders and work from lifts or scaffolding at various heights.
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs using proper technique.

Qualifications / Skills and Knowledge Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a carpenter in commercial construction settings.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and shop drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or trade program.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
• Experience on active job sites with tight schedules and safety-first operations.
• Familiarity with steel stud framing and concrete formwork.
