OSF HealthCare is seeking an experienced carpenter to join our facilities team in Peoria, IL. The role performs routine carpentry, maintenance and repair of wood structures, fixtures and furnishings following blueprints and instructions.

Candidates should have strong shop skills and the ability to read drawings and work safely in a healthcare environment. Responsibilities include finishing and rough carpentry, estimating material quantities and costs, and assisting with general maintenance tasks

Formación

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 4–5 years of commercial or institutional carpentry, masonry and general maintenance experience.
• Requires a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of carpentry and ability to read blueprints from apprenticeship program beyond high school.
• Knowledge of healthcare facility codes, standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to estimate building costs and quantities of materials.
• Ability to read and write clearly in verbal and written form.

This is an Hourly position.

Expected pay for this position is $29.01 - $34.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Overview

Following established procedures and all building, fire, and safety codes, performs routine tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of wood structures, fixtures and furnishings according to blueprints, sketches or specific instructions. Performs finish and rough carpentry duties and assists in other maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Work requires approximately four to five years commercial or institutional work experience to perform a variety of carpentry, masonry and general maintenance duties.
• Requires a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of carpentry trade and mechanical drawing, and the ability to read blueprints as normally acquired through completion of a certified carpentry apprenticeship program beyond high school.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations for healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Analytical skills necessary in order to estimate building costs and quantities of materials and supplies needed.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms. Ability to read and write is essential.
