Description

This position provides operational support in reconstruction efforts for clients. The qualified candidate must have extensive carpentry experience and the ability to work independently. The candidate will assist with scope development alongside BELFOR Estimators and manage projects autonomously. An Intermediate Carpenter participates in developing basic carpenters. Development objectives include expanding capabilities from residential to commercial and multi-family projects, leading and performing emergency services, and increasing material knowledge in carpentry subsets such as framing, cabinetry, and trim. This role is Level 3 in the Progressive Carpenter track.

Responsibilities

1. Recognize potential project problems and seek guidance promptly.
2. Address most project questions and escalate complex issues appropriately.
3. Move and protect contents to prevent damage.
4. Create containment for dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants.
5. Use proper tools and BELFOR methods to perform floodcutting, salvaging, and labeling of baseboards, cabinets, and doors.
6. Complete shrink wrap training and participate in 4 projects involving shrink wrap.
7. Identify types of insulation, their thickness, and R-values.
8. Apply skills and knowledge in Trim, Doors, Cabinetry, Insulation, Framing, Ceilings, Roofing, and Siding to daily tasks.
9. Perform vehicle safety and maintenance inspections daily.
10. Maintain attention to detail.
11. Follow BELFOR standards to safeguard property.
12. Understand customer service principles.
13. Work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
14. Work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
15. Report work hours, equipment, and consumables accurately and promptly.
16. Attend BELFOR safety and operations training as required.

Requirements

1. Supervise unskilled labor, basic BELFOR employees, and subcontractors in residential settings.
2. Answer simple project questions and defer complex questions appropriately.
3. Maintain equipment used in daily tasks.
4. Perform emergency services, such as board-ups and securing buildings.
5. Perform additional duties as required.
