Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking a skilled carpenter to perform carpentry work in support of district facilities. The role involves manual labor, maintaining tools, completing work orders promptly, and recording labor hours with accuracy.
Under general supervision, you will read blueprints, estimate materials, perform structural and finish repairs, install walls, ceilings, doors, and millwork, and assist in supervising helpers.
The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform skilled carpentry work in support of the proper maintenance of District properties. The position is responsible for performing manual labor, maintaining equipment and tools, completing work orders in a timely manner with minimal service disruption, and maintaining accurate work records. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Requires High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience and requires valid Drivers License.
This position will work in MSCS Zone 2 and Zone 4.
