Job summary

EMI Services at Camp Lejeune is seeking a Carpenter to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair a variety of facilities. The role covers interior to exterior work, from cabinetry to roofing, using materials like wood, drywall, concrete and tile. Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential to complete tasks safely.

This position offers competitive wages plus an insurance allowance, with overtime evenings and weekends commonly available. U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of carpentry experience.
• Valid Driver's License compliant with REAL ID Act or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to pass pre-employment drug screening and work overtime including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair across a range of facilities.
• Interior to exterior work, from cabinets to roofs, incorporating wood, drywall, plaster, concrete and tile.
• Operate, use and maintain hand tools and power tools; assess tasks and determine time and materials.
• Respond to routine and emergency repairs as needed.

Carpenters

on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro and Morehead City. Primary responsibilities of the Carpenter are to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair. The Carpenter works in various types of facilities and structures, interior to exterior, floor to ceiling, vinyl siding to soffits and roofs and everything in between such as cabinets, tables, benches, doors and door closures. Materials include wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, brick, ceramic tile and paint. The ideal EMI Carpenter is an experienced handyman who does it all while following all health and safety standards.

Salary

$29.93/ hr. plus $15.25/hr. fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently with MINIMAL SUPERVISION
• Assess tasks and determine solutions including cost, time and materials
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• Mechanically inclined with the mindset of making alterations and repairs
• Basic understanding of facia and trim with fabrication skills
• Work well in a team to complete tasks
• Adaptable and flexible in work situations
• Prioritize tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 + years of experience in the carpentry trades
• Valid Drivers License compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening
• OVERTIME- Available evenings & weekends
• US citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
• Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
• Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
• Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
• Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
