EMI Services, Inc. is hiring a Carpenter for Camp Lejeune and surrounding eastern NC communities, including Jacksonville. The role covers design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintenance and repair of facilities, indoors and outdoors, from siding to roofs, cabinets to doors.

Earn $29.93 per hour plus a $15.25 per hour fringe benefits credited toward insurance and 401(k). Ideal candidates have a strong handyman skillset, follow health and safety standards, and can work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of carpentry experience.
• US citizenship to access military installations.

Responsibilities

• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Assess tasks and determine solutions including cost, time and materials.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.

Carpenters on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro and Morehead City. Primary responsibilities of the Carpenter are to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair. The Carpenter works in various types of facilities and structures, interior to exterior, floor to ceiling, vinyl siding to soffits and roofs and everything in between such as cabinets, tables, benches, doors and door closures. Materials include wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, brick, ceramic tile and paint. ideal EMI Carpenter is an experienced handyman who does it all while following all health and safety standards.

$29.93/ hr. plus $15.25/hr. fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently with MINIMAL SUPERVISION
• Assess tasks and determine solutions including cost, time and materials

Essential Skills

• Mechanically inclined with the mindset of making alterations and repairs
• Basic understanding of facia and trim with fabrication skills
• Work well in a team to complete tasks
• Adaptable and flexible in work situations
• Prioritize tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 + years of experience in the carpentry trades
• Valid Drivers License compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
• Pass a pre-employment drug screeningOVERTIME- Available evenings & weekends
• US citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
• Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
• Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
• Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment
• Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
