Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a Carpenter for the North Farm trades team in Lexington. You will perform construction, repairs and maintenance carpentry across College facilities and the farms, helping to keep spaces functional, well maintained and safe.

The role supports teaching, research and extension activities in agriculture. A valid driver's license is preferred, and benefits include extensive leave, retirement match and education options.

Qualifications

  • Facility management, construction and renovation experience required.
  • Experience working on a multi-disciplinary skilled trades team coordinating carpentry in building and renovation construction.
  • Ability to perform laborious and physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction, repairs and maintenance carpentry across College facilities and farms.
  • Ensure spaces are functional, well maintained and safe.
  • Support the College’s mission through reliable carpentry work.

Physical Requirements

This position requires pushing or pulling objects over 50 pounds, working at heights above 4 feet, and climbing ladders. A full range of physical motion is required.

Shift

Days; Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 am-4:00 pm (40 hours per week) may require some overtime.

Job Summary

The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking a Carpenter to join the trades team for Research Farms, at the scenic 1,800-acre North Farm in Lexington.The Research Farms provide a vast array of teaching, research and extension opportunities for the faculty, staff and students of the college, while overseeing the engineering, Construction and Maintenance of the colleges Agriculture facilities. As an essential member of the Trades team, A Carpenter will perform construction, repairs and maintenance carpentry work across College facilities and the farms! Making this position an integral part of keeping these spaces functional, well maintained and most importantly, safe. This position offers the opportunity to work in a distinctive agricultural environment while supporting the College’s mission.
