Archer Western, a member of the Walsh Group is currently seeking a Carpenter for the I-95 to I-295 North Interchange in Jacksonville, FL.

The Carpenter constructs, erects, and installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for jobsites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Measure distances and mark guidelines on working surfaces to prepare for laying down work
• Prepare, build, and install wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and additional structures
• Assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
• Use carpenter’s belt with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery

Qualifications

• 3-5 Years Verifiable Experience Preferred
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds/ladders
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Good manual dexterity; may involve standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
