UT Southwestern is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our Facilities team. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma, GED, or vocational training, a valid Texas driver's license, and at least three years of skilled or journeyman-level carpentry experience in a commercial, institutional, or healthcare setting. This role works under minimal supervision to provide general level skills in performance of carpentry work.
We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of door hardware, proficiency in using power tools, experience with framing, finishing, repairs, and installations, and the ability to work with a variety of building materials while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Candidates should also have basic computer skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred qualifications include union-sponsored training, construction-related certifications, and carpentry experience in hospitals, universities, or large-scale healthcare systems.
Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.
7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
