Job summary

Wolf Creek Contracting is seeking a skilled carpenter to construct, erect, install, and repair wood structures on-site across regional markets. Travel is required from time to time as projects vary.

You will work with basic hand and power tools to follow blueprints, measure accurately, and ensure high-quality finishes on wood installations and fixtures.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry on commercial or residential sites.
• Ability to read blueprints and sketches.
• Skilled with hand and power tools.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean site.
• Study blueprints to determine dimensions and materials.
• Measure and mark cutting lines accurately.
• Shape and cut materials to specified sizes.
• Install windows, frames, floors, and trim with tools.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders as needed.
• Inspect finished woodwork for quality.
• Finish surfaces and prepare forms for concrete.

About Wolf Creek Contracting

Wolf Creek Contracting is a General Contractor centrally located to service the Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and surrounding markets. Our diversified crews allow us to have a wide range of projects such as new construction, renovations, concrete, design/build, pre-engineered metal buildings, and structural steel buildings. Typical projects are structured with one primary project manager and working supervisor or foreman on the job from start to finish.

Primary Purpose

Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.

Routine Duties

• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, flooring, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools.
• Verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level.
• Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
• Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Inspect ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses or buildings, using paint, hand tools, or paneling.
• Construct forms or chutes for pouring concrete.
