Job summary

Aerotek is seeking skilled Carpenters for varied residential and commercial projects in the Chicagoland area, including new construction and remodels. You will work on framing, finish carpentry, drywall, and related tasks, reading blueprints and using hand/power tools to produce quality results.

Ideal candidates have hands-on construction experience, can work independently or in teams, and will maintain safety and accuracy across multiple sites around Aurora, IL.

Qualifications

  • Residential, commercial, or mixed construction experience.
  • Experience with wood framing, metal stud framing, and general carpentry.
  • Ability to read tape measures and project drawings.
  • Proficient with common hand tools and power tools.
  • Finish carpentry including doors, trim, and interior finishes.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift materials and perform physical work all day.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Overview

We are seeking skilled Carpenters to support a variety of residential and commercial construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area. This position offers the opportunity to work on new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and remodeling projects while performing a wide range of carpentry tasks from framing to finish work.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in construction, strong knowledge of carpentry methods, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver high‑quality results.

Responsibilities
  • Perform carpentry work on residential and commercial construction projects
  • Complete wood and metal stud framing for walls, ceilings, and structural components
  • Install doors, hardware, trim, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry elements
  • Hang, install, and repair drywall as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Measure, cut, and assemble building materials accurately
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
  • Assist with layout, demolition, and general construction activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to ensure projects stay on schedule
Essential Skills

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
