Job Summary
The Department of English invites applications for its vacant Carolina Core Programs Coordinator position. This full‑time role provides administrative support for the Carolina Core (general education) programs housed in the English Department. Responsibilities include coordinating scheduling, staffing and data management for First‑Year English (FYE) and the Speech Communication & Social Advocacy and Ethical Life (SPCH & SAEL) programs, acting as the primary program contact, and offering other programmatic assistance as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two or more years of job‑related experience (or an equivalent combination of certifications, training, education and experience).
• Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services, Education or a related field with two years of related experience.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Teams, Zoom and Adobe software. • Experience with Excel spreadsheets, Blackboard and USC systems (Banner, SSC, Data Warehouse, etc.) is highly desirable. • Familiarity with USC policies, procedures and offices; ability to maintain privacy and ensure accuracy of work. • Independent, adaptable, and capable of working effectively with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
