Fossil Rim Wildlife Center seeks a motivated intern for the Whitfield Collins Carnivore Internship in Glen Rose, TX. This full-time internship involves daily carnivore care, including wolves and the potential involvement with cheetahs, under trained supervision.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in wildlife management, conservation biology, or a related science attained prior to start.
• Previous internships strongly recommended.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day care for several carnivore groups, including Mexican wolves and red wolves.
• Assist with husbandry for cheetahs and black-footed cats where possible.
• Perform training tasks such as diet prep, enclosure cleaning, health monitoring, and record keeping.
• Participate in enrichment projects and learn SSPs and Fossil Rim breeding involvement.
• Complete independent project and assist with food inventory and purchasing.
